Rookie Tournament Practice Prep

Considering entering your first tournament but not quite sure if you are ready? Or want to do a trial run before it really counts? Now is your chance! In preparation for our 1st Flatirons Flowers Mahjong Rookie Tournament coming this November, we are hosting a Rookie Tournament Prep on Sunday, September 13th at Planks and Paint in Broomfield. This event is for ANY mahjong players who have done one or fewer tournaments during their Mahj Career! So whether you have been playing for years and have never done a tournament (like Kristen) or just learned a few months ago and want to elevate your game, this is for you! We will be following NMJL rules + tournament rules, and rules will be shared with all participants before the tournament. Players will play on traditional tiles. We will play two rounds and players will have the opportunity to be East during a tournament which means keeping score, time checks, and dealing. $20 will cover the tournament prep, venue, light snacks and drinks. You are welcome to bring your own snacks or drink in if you would like. Because of the high demand for this event and the importance of having even tables, all cancellations within 72 hours of the event are non-refundable. *NOTE: This is NOT the Rookie Tournament. That will take place November 7th at the Anythink Nature Library and registration will open soon for that. We will have prizes for the winners at this prep class!
